Brand design: my step-by-step process
A professionally developed brand identity will not only transform your company’s image for the better – it will also give you the confidence to go out there and make a name for yourself. So how does it work? Here’s how I approach most of my logo design projects.

Step 1: Tell me what you need.
Some businesses come to me with a clear idea for their brand, while others need extra help putting together something special. I’ll listen to your needs, then offer a solution that covers all bases (or suggest one of my most popular branding packages).
Step 2: Tell me what you like
During your initial consultation, we’ll deep dive into your brand values and explore ways of communicating them to your audience. I’ll also ask you to send on examples of brands that you admire, even if they’re not in the same sector. The more information you can give me, the better!
Step 3: Leave the hard work to me
After painting a picture of your business, then doing some additional research around your industry and your competitors, I’ll send you some initial creative sketches. You’ll have a look through my ideas, and we’ll have a chat about what’s working for you and what’s not.
Step 4: Let me finalise your designs
Once we’ve agreed on the brand concept, I’ll start bringing your designs to life! I’ll explore suitable colours, typefaces and imagery to create a look for your company that will establish you as professional, credible, and above all, memorable.
Step 5: Say hello to your new brand!
I’ll present you with your new logo, along with a set of clear brand guidelines. You’ll own full rights to your brand identity (once you’ve settled up with me, of course!), and you’ll have everything you need to create your own graphics and assets in the future.
If you have a branding project in mind that needs some creative input, why not get in touch? I’ve worked with many businesses (including startups) to design their perfect logo, and I’d love to chat about yours.
